Just the control vavle can be removed without taking out the piston if that's what your asking. It just threads in and you take the hoses off. It's super easy and quick to do. Just take off the driver tire and it's like a 30min job

Yes, I wanted to avoid removing the cylinder and connecting rod. It appears to thread in, as you said, so all good. Thanks.

You will have to balance the valve after you install it:

Got it off yesterday. going to break it down before ordering the kit...just to make sure the hard parts are still good.

Any guidance on the amount of grease to put into the fitting? The videos I have watched focus on not pinching the seal, but do no mention greasing it.

I grease the little sleeve thing. Other than that, don't over think it. It's easy.
