Default I am in need

I am replacing the engine compartment wiring harness on my 1970 Covrette, Big Block with air. Purchased the harness from American Autowire and there seems to be some issues between the original harness and the one I received. My car has transistorized ignition and the wires leading to the coil are different. There is only one wire + and one - wire. The new harness has two wires on the + side.

Anyone have a schematic for the engine compartment along with the heater/AC connections? I have the 1969 service manual and the schematic does not cover either of two issues.

I have contacted American Autowire to see if they have any schematics that can help.

I searched the threads for anything on this issue and could not find anything except the service manual schematic (which I have.)

Thanks for any help.

Bob

The regular points ignition, which you don't have, has a starter bypass wire, (the second wire) connected to the coil to supply 12V to the coil when starting. That is where the second wire comes into play. Normally the coil is fed thru a resistor wire which knocks down the voltage to the coil. The TI system does not use the second wire.

So the yellow wire that runs from the starter to the coil is not needed with the TI ignition system?

I made this drawing for 1969, but as far as I know the TI circuit is basically the same for all years.

Apparently ,I am misinformed. According to Robertea, the starter bypass wire is used, but it is not directly attached to the coil. Sorry for any confusion on my part.
