My original ST-10 was whining in 3 of 4 gears needing rebuild. The original shift linkage was causing issues from reverse to first needing rebuild.....direct bolt in WC T-5 internal rail shifter was my fix...love it.

Hurst shifters are no where near as good as a properly working stock shifter. Down shifting from third to second sucks. They are designed for drag racing. I have one now and have had them in the past. I have a factory one in my 70 T/A 340 sixpack. Sucks and it is not worn out. If you want a good shifter buy a Long. This

Not this. This was in my 66 and its just as bad as the one I have in my 64 so I know its not a fluke

I agree the best shifter for our C3's id the Hurst Competition Plus, Holley sells them for around $500.

I scrolled down just to find this, and was not disappointed.

The Hurst shifter in my 80 is adequate, and kinda fun in a notchy, retro-awful way.

I'd feel more confident ordering a Long shifter if their website wasn't the same age as our cars, but here you gol

Any of you that think a Hurst is better than a stock has never shifted a properly working factory shifter. Especially fast down shifting. Don't buy the Hurst in a panic down shifting situation you might end up in a Hearse
