Finishing a frame off resto on 75 auto car. Original engine MIA. Looking at the Blue Print Engine No BP350CTCD (350/341 Hp/371 Tq/Alum Heads). Has anyone used this series engine in a c-3? Did you have any fit/clearance issues? Here is what I have uncovered so far:
1. Needs a "short" vs long water pump for clearance to radiator. Do you still use the original fan clutch and blade?
2. Intake manifold and air cleaner will not clear stock 75 hood. Someone suggested the Edelbrock 2101 intake manifold with a drop base air cleaner?
3. Will the stock T400 trans bolt up?
4. Will stock motor mounts work?
5. Will use headers to stock exhaust system but don't know what type/brand etc?
6. Car has upgraded Speed Direct Steeroids rack and pinion kit installed.
7. Anyone have issues mounting stock pulleys for AC. Alt. water pump, and balancer?
Any help/suggestions greatly appreciated.
It's a direct bolt in with the exception of the water pump. You are incorrect. You do not need a short or a long nose waterpump. You need a Corvette waterpump. Then all your accessories will line up. If you put in a short nose pump nothing will line up.
And if your one who insists on a stock hood, then yes a Edlebrock performer intake will fit.
All else from trans to motor mounts will be fine.
original engine was a gen 1 small block chevy Any small block chevy bolts in and has the same dimensions even the improved gen 2 roller cam engines.from the 90s
The accessories are different than most though like the waterpump 4vettes mentioned and the alternator and power steering mount location is different than most chevy applications. otherwise the l48 was the same 350 found in grandmas station wagon with the l82 being the forged performance version.
I did bother with the vette water pump or pulleys I bought aluminum pulleys and a regular short water pump. I had to drill out the pulley for the stock fan clutch which I ran until I sapped it with electric fans which I prefer.
It should be mentioned I had to use a couple pulley shims to line the aftermarket billet pulleys with the stock steering, ac and alternator pump.
keep in mind all your stock stuff like the waterpump will bolt right up to that blueprint sbc 350 also.

I'm also in the process of pulling my '77's L48 to replace with an BluePrint 350 w/ the H8002K heads. I'd really like to install sidepipes . . . has anyone successfully mounted Hooker or Dougs Sidepipe Headers (auto trans)? Any detail would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

I’m running Doug’s side pipes and AFR street heads in my 77. No issues. The raised exhaust ports are not much taller than stock heads.
im also running stainless sidepipes with alumium heads they are the same chinese castings AFR sells as the enforcer heads but I had dart iron eagles before these and side pipe headers actually have more clearance with the aluminum heads than I did with the iron eagles.
