Default 1977 tire size

Probably a dumb question but can anyone tell me the factory tire size(s) for a stock 1977 Corvette with aluminum wheels? Is it the same front vs rear? Is there a tire that is popular these days that people have had good luck with? Thanks!

GR70-15, which equates to 225/70r15 in a modern tire size. In 1978 there was an optional tire size of 255/60r15. Both should fit on your aluminum wheels without issue, although with a 255 you might need to trim a small piece of the front fender well to avoid interference.

Same size front & rear...
The largest size you can run is 255-60-15...
My current set this spring I went with 245-60-15...
Most popular brands are BF Goodrich radial TA
or Cooper Cobras
The reason I went with the 245 vs 255 just giving my wheel bearings a break...lol

I've always liked the looks of the 255 over the 225 plus there's more meat on the road. Mine fit with no problems..

Been running 255's for years and years on my 77. Just about every brand. Speedo is right on and never had to trim anything.

255’s should fit, mine rub a touch on the frame at full lock.
