I have been installing a 2017 camaro LT1 into my 1978. I have most of the PSI wiring harness completed , but there is a red wire coming from their fuse/relay center that is suppose to hook up to a ' fused switched power ( KEY ON AND CRANKING ) .I thought I could hook it to the starter solenoid wire , but it won't start.
I called PSI wiring and talked to a tech- Gary -who was very nice and helpful. I told him that I thought I had hooked to the battery cable side of the starter , and he said if I had done that it should start but not turn off.
I am hoping someone else having done the swap may know where I need to attach the wire.-
I have an email in to PSI concerning this , but would love to know how others solved this.
I hooked my fuse/relay center directly to my original 12 ga wire going to the distributor today , and it fired right up. I am going to check for leaks ( gas and oil ) before going any further. It ran just fine, so before adding any relay I want to take it for a spin to see how it performs.
Thank you to everybody for the suggestions. This is a great forum.
