I have this scanner Nexlink NL102P NEXAS I plugged it for the first time to my 82 Corvette it’s not coming on. I know the scanner is good because it works with my other cars. I did buy adapter cable OBD1 to OBD2 what I’m missing or what I should do to get the scanner to work
I don't think that is the right tool. I know you bought an adapter fopr OBD1 but I looked this up and didn't see it supporting OBD1. "Work on all cars, mini vans and light duty vehicles (OBDII & CAN) from 1996 on and latest
That being said, welcome to the club! OR as the government agent says...WE ARE HERE TO HELP.
I don't have service manual or any book for this car. How you get those lights and where are they ? because I just got this orange service engine light comes on .

The most expensive scanner tool you need for your 82 is a "paperclip". OBD1 is what you have and you can just short pins A&B, left two lower corner pins looking down on the connector under the ashtray. Count the CEL light flashes...BTW, get the 82 corvette GM service manual, you WILL need it. It's all in there on how to do this and the codes. GL
Don’t bother with an aftermarket book. You need the authentic GM version like in the picture (I am not saying buy that one - do your homework).
Before you start wrenching on your car, thoroughly read the manual. Tons of great information about the ignition, injector, and computer control system in there.
OBD l ALDL's don't supply 12 volts to power a scanner. You need to power the scanner with a separate power source like a cigarette lighter adapter. And like others said that scanner may not support OBD l or have a separate 12 volt input.

That scanner will not work. Getting a scanner that will actually work with the 82 is a little tricky. I ended up buying a MPSI Mico Processor Systems Model 350 off of eBay. With that being said, you don't need it. Like others have said: a paper clip, shop manual, and a multimeter are all you need.

Again, ALL you need is a paperclip and the GM to fix anything on ANY CFI corvette car, to include camaro, firebird and trans am. Another real simple way and MUCH more is the EBL, but a paperclip is much cheaper. GL

If you want to use the correct scan tool you’ll need to pick up an OTC Monitor 85. That’s what I did for my 81. The paperclip works too, but the scan tool has many functions you’ll find useful for diagnostics and tuning.
