Would headers from a 77 fit a 71? Have a chance to buy some in good condition very cheap.

Post a photo!

They should fit, as long as your car has an SBC, but there are a lot that aren't worth putting on your car, even if they are free.

Nameplate says XS Power.
They are still in business, but don't list these exact ones.

Ask why they are for sale. The seller likely saw no measurable change in performance between them and stock manifolds.

They'll probably fit, but what's the point?

Have to agree, those don't look like they are worth the effort of installing them. Much less the price of gaskets.

Shorties, as the picture is referred to, do not have any "scavenging effect".
And that is what headers are all about. Each tube on a header helps the other cylinder tubes "pull" exhaust from the cylinder quickly and efficiently. The longer the tube, the more scavenging.
Then the cylinder can refill again with a fresh mixture = more power.

However,
Shorties, are basically all show / no go, manifolds.
