Ontario guys read this
Ontario is going to pass a bill that will make the streets safer and make it easier to crack down on street racing, which in itself is fine. However these car hating turds are also putting in hidden revisions that are vague with regards to what modifications can be make to our cars.
They say anything commonly used in racing will be against the law and you can be fined or thrown in jail or the parts destroyed. Hmm do they commonly use Holley 750DP's, headers, Victor Jr. intakes, nitrous etc. etc............... in racing ?
In New Zealand, we have the same morons trying to pass a bill that will punish anyone caught squealing their tires by confiscating their car.....permanently!!!!!! This is 1950's Fonzie hating paranoia.......so make sure ALL the Canucks sign the petition!!!!!! You might even be able to fool some of your very conservative neighbors by telling them their signing to save a puppy.........
Talk about cutting off your leg because of a hang nail. Overkill to the nth degree.
Last time I checked Ontario was not a Dictatorship. Yet this bill sounds like the government would have all the power in deciding which parts are legal or not on a whim.

Sign the petition but more importantly write to your MPP and the Minister of Transportation. That means more to politicans especially with an election coming up. Hit them where it hurts ... your vote. One letter written constitutes "X" amount of votes. I'm not sure of the number. But writing to your MPP makes them notice that not everyone is happy in their riding.

I hope this will get noticed and a few well worded letters to MP's will stop this BS. A few kids are street racing so they want everyone to suffer, typical crap from polititians. It is already illegal to speed or race in the street so just enforce the laws that are already there.
What gets me is they just pass these bills without any consultation or vote like they know whats best for us. Did you know that our rights were just severly reduced in the gun registry bill that just passed ? The police used to have to get a search warrant to enter your house, now they can just say say they suspect a unregistered firearm is in the house and enter, the same goes for the car.
This bill will not stop stop street racing, proper enforcement of current laws, education and nice drag strip in Toronto will do more to curb street racing than making criminals out of hobbiests. :D
What you guys REALLY need to do is find out the Canadian equivalent of SEMA (SEMAC?) and let them know what our good friends in Queen's Park are up to. Down here, organizations like these keep "well-meaning" politicians from doing nonsense like that by reminding them how many jobs would be lost...
BTW: Don't hold your breath waiting for a dragstrip in Toronto. Real estate is far too expensive!

Sign the petition and contact your MP these idiots are notorious for sliding stuff like this by :mad
Chevy historically classifies those type of parts as heavy duty. Chevy being far more an expert on cars than a lawmaker...
They should do laws on something they know about, assuming there is something- it is not cars!

I think it is this section that is the problem:
172.2 (1) No person shall drive or permit to be driven on a highway a motor vehicle with a prescribed part, containing a prescribed substance or equipped with perscribed equipment in perscribed circumstances.
This is so vague that it could mean anything. Could a high cat con be considered a Prescribed Equipment. ???
