I have a 68 327 convertible. It ran last time I drove it 6 weeks ago..
tried to start it and it wouldn't start. (Very unusual).. I put in a fuel pressure gage and the pressure is 6 pounds. when I pull the throttle back I can see gas squirting in. So I ruled out fuel problem.
I switched gears to spark. . I pulled #1 plug grounded it and turned the engine over, It had a small yellow orange spark from the plug. I was expecting a big blue spark. so I. put new coil pack and all new electrical parts in the HEI distributor, no change just cranks and won't fire up..
Bought a new distributor and installed it to TDC on the compression stroke by pulling the plug and feeling for the air pressure from the plug hole then set the distributor with the rotor just before the #1 cylinder..
still nothing Just cranks.
I used gas as well as starter fluid down the carb with no success..
Battery was and is fully charged and 12 volt to HEI distributor.
NOTHING
I hate to admit, I'm stumped. Seemed so simple spark and fuel. Any help appreciated.. Not even sure where to go next at this point

I was going to suggest ground as well...the week spark is indicative. clean the ground from the engine to the frame and the ground from the battery to the frame and try again. I bet it starts
