Default Front spindle installation issues

I’m having trouble getting enough thread to start the upper ball joint nut. Presumably because the springs aren’t compressed but am I missing something?

Using Alan American semi-coilovers, MOOG ball joints and the older Chevy tubular upper a-arms many folks have had success installing. Factory lower a-arms.

Any tips on how to compress these 550lb. springs on a bare frame? The coilovers are set to their lowest rise height.

Is the inner bore on the knuckle painted/powder coated? If so you'll need to remove that to bare metal.

Great point, I have removed all paint down to bare metal.

Remove the upper arm bump stops. That will let the arms drop lower. Reinstall once there is weight on the suspension.

SOLVED

Used ratchet straps attached to the bottom of the jack then wrapped them around the frame. When the jack arm went up the straps pulled down on the frame providing the needed spring compression.
