HELP - I have a 72 Corvette that I recently replaced all the vacuum hoses and now the headlight covers stay up all the time. I checked the Headlight Cover switch under the steering wheel and its closed. Any ideas?
Hello, I checked the hose connections to the relays and they are correct.
One possible issue is my vacuum reservoir tank (VRT). There should be (3) outlets - (1) for the Vacuum Check Valve, (2) for the Headlight actuators. My VRT only has two outlets. I removed and replaced the hoses one at a time but somehow I didn't catch how the 2 HL Actuators were previously connected. Right now, I added a T connector to attach the 2 HL Actuators to one VRT outlet.
Any other ideas?

Reason: Typo
Here's a pic of the tank from our '72, showing 3 ports. Is it possible that you removed 3 hoses from 3 ports, but upon re-installation, felt around and found only 2? If so, the 3rd port is open (a huge vacuum leak) and will affect the headlamp operation.
I know it's a goofy scenario, but I can appreciate how tough it can be to find that third port in all the darkness of that corner of the engine compartment.
So I guess I'm saying - take another look for that third port?
@LTC_Ret , I knew this diagram was out there somewhere, and I found it.
It's specific to the 1970 to 1972 years, and should match what your car should have. If your VRT has only two ports, I believe that one is from a '68 or '69.
Thanks, it was my error, I found the third port but the headlight covers are still not going down. I will be focused on this issue over the next 2-3 days until resolved.
