I have a 1972, non ac car that I bought as somewhat of a project. Pretty much got everything working and now its time to put in the washer bottle. It appears that there was some work done on the front end of this car because there is no indication of where the bracket would go.
There are no holes on the fender well to tell me where the water bottle bracket should be.
I have the AIM manual, and the shop manual but they dont really help me.
It’s there anyway for me to find out where to put this bracket?
I had to buy the bracket, bottle and neck because there was noting in the car.
I could just assemble the bottle and neck and wing it, but thats not my style.
Thanks
This is from my 1971 AIM. In the right fender well aft of the tire is a slight bump out where the bracket attaches. Which can be seen in view "B" then the upper bracket for the upper tube in view "C". In the attachment.
Thank you.
Same picture for my 72. I dont have that bump on my fenderwell.
Maybe i can locate the bracket that holds the neck in place and see how it falls from there. I am at work right now so i cant check to see if i have the attachment hole.
I just ran down to the shop and took a couple of quick photos from my non AC '72.. maybe these will help locate it on your inner fender. If these help, I can get more precise pics.
Horizontal from side gill cutout Vertical from lower fender lip
well that is helpful.
someone did a terrible job of fiber glassing mine, because i dont thave that profile
that second picture is looking out the missing eggcrate on the fender?
It was even with the lip when I started but then I pressed against it to take the pic so it looks outside. I can get a better photo later today. Any others while I'm there?
My 72 was bone stock and it didnt have a bottle. It had a plastic/vinyl water bag that hung from the drivers side fender. But mine has AC so that may be the difference.
