'75 Heater Core Replacement fitment
I have been working on replacing my heater core with a piece off of rock auto, and it seems like it does not fit. Pictures below. The little clamps that hold the heater core itself in were too loose, as the new one core was thinner than the original by about a quarter inch. The tubes are spaced about a quarter inch above and sideways out of the clamp they fit in, and the cover shown in the first picture hits one of the tubes, and doesn't line up with it's bolt holes. Does it look like I have something put together wrong? Or is this a matter of a "universal" part that I am going to have a choice between finding a better replacement or breaking out my shade-tree fabrication skills to get put back together? Thanks in advance for any help, and if you want some more pictures just let me know!
P.S. it is a FOUR SEASONS98554A
the problem is when you move them they may leak. Triple check for leaks as you do not want to do that job again.
i may consider buying new from a vendor on this site and see if better..
i know paragon corvette where i got mine, they rebent as mine was off. They had a corvette jig and resoldered.
again, triple check for leaks after you bend in place.
here is my heater core thread..
