Re: Shaker hood (Propik)
Welcome to the CORVETTE Forum
I have never seen a shaker style hood on a Corvette. I can't really say that I would have any idea as how to go about doing it and make it blend with the style of the car. I don't think we have a hood available for a '79 flat enough to facilitate one.
We have many types of air induction from several years of Corvettes that are applicable to our cars and interchange somewhat. Maybe you should look at one of them for Air Induction for your car. Again, welcome to the Forum.
I had fleetingly considered the idea of a similar application, but the factory offset of the engine would make the scoop sit to one side slightly and not look right.
That sounds cool. You could use a mid 70's trans am scoop and adjust it to sit properly.Get an extra hood and try it. You could always glass the hole back in and sell it if you didn't like it.
Think .........swap meet.

I plan on building one for my 77. I already figured out how to deal with the off set engine.
I planed on building a "air box" fit with the air cleaner in it. Then mount the scoop and off set it on the box to fit the center of the hood.
I'm considering using an old style "snorkel" hood scoop for the project but have yet to find one. Other than than, i just haven't decided on what i wanted sticking through the hood.
Yes I do, It was V8 in mid 80's the car was black with blue interior. It had 454 under the hood. I can scan you the pics when I get back to Finland in April.
