Default Quick fix to lower jirdcage

I am almost finished replacing the body body mounts in my 81 and found something concerning.
The right side #2 mounting hole has been enlarged because of rust.Whenni put the bottom mount in it can back fall out.
So I got to thinking and a old shim will fit in the box with minimal movent and slide over the mount nice and tight.
I can install a old shim over the existing hole using JB weld or something to secure it . Can anyone foresee problems? is there something better like ab epoxy to hold this rascal..in place? I can do the bottom of the mount the same way

Seriously? I'm glad it's your car.
Think, weld in new metal!

If it's rusted "that bad" in there.......you've probably got rust cancer in the rest of the birdcage to some degree. Get a camera and scope the areas you can access, take your top windshield frame apart. How does your VIN tag look ?....etc.....etc.

Just weld in new metal. You must have already lifted the body. I like jbweld as much as the next guy but just weld new metal in. Inspect the rest too if it is that bad.
