Default What is this

Still trying to work through what is on this 75 C3 - can someone tell me what the cable is in the attached picture and should it be attached to the pin next to it? Also in the other picture is a wire coming form the wires adjacent to the alternator that is currently not connected to anything - looks black in the picture but is actually dark green.
Appreciate the help.

That is part of your steering wheel/ignition lock system.

A thread on the subject can be found here.

The green wire goes to your temperature sending unit on the cylinder head. I’m guessing your temperature gauge isn’t working.

The interlock cable was disconnected for good reasons. I would leave it that way.
the dk green wire I would reconnect to the sender. Between cylinders number 2 and 4 in the head. Your temp gauge just might come to life. Kinda nice to have.

Thanks for the responses - will leave the interlock cable alone and reconnecting the temp sensor. Right now have the car on jacks because it seems an easier way to check the spark plugs and while at it will be doing a compression test when this thing cools down a bit
