Ordered a set of the new sleeved front calipers from Mad,$129 a piece. While bleeding the LF I noticed a nice fluid leak.Checked all the fittings and all was fine.Removed the caliper to check and one piston and seal hit the ground. :mad Seems the sleeve is not pressed flush in the bore so the outer seal can not be pressed fully in.Sure Mad will replace it at no charge but that does not account for the poor quality control and my time.If I preformed my job to those standards I would be gone.Just wanted to pass on the info,be sure and check these close if you buy them.Other wise they look great but that don`t stop the car.
had the same thing happen when i ordered a set from chicago corvette.
1 was leaking from the piston, anotherone was chipped off right by the bleeder.of course the replaced it ,but i still paid the shipping and had to wait longer.
best bet is to pick it up local so you can inspect what you buy and no shipping charges either
Hi
I understand the problem with the outer seal ( dustseal ) not staying tight in the caliper, but this seal is not the cause of the leak.
The inner lip seal should still work, even with the sleeve not 100 % fluch on the outside.
Get an other caliper, this one is not OK for a Vette.
Good luck Gunther
