Default 69 Basket Case -Help needed.
Working on a 69 base 350 auto with my 19 year old son. we have the drive train installed and new wiring harness installed. I wired in the neutral safety switch and the ignition switch. What else is needed just to crank the engine. We have new cables on the battery
and good grounds. There are no fuses in the block. what is needed to see if it cranks. Thanks.

Crank it? Just jump the solenoid with a old beater screwdriver. S post to large post battery cable is on. It'll crank.
Run?
Make certain you have power to the distributor.

i tried that and and i got was sparks. It’s like i was doin some DC Arc welding. When i had the engine on the stand it cranked fine.

Can you turn the motor over with a ratchet? Make sure it’s not bound?

The flex plate and torque converter spin properly. I’m thinking the starter ?

Replaced the ignition switch on the column and she cranked right over. Thank you for all your help.

Go buy a 20 dollar ignition switch from the parts store. Wire it in to the starter , battery and distributor. You'll be good to go
