Finally installed my new EBAY "SBC BBC CHEVY 3 High Performance High Torque MINI STARTER 168 Tooth 6449MBK" mini-starter in my 71 Coupe 406/700R4, and all is well though there were two issues I had to overcome...

a) The stud sizes on the solenoid were different, so I had to open up the little ignition wire's connector a little to get it on that small stud (mine has HEI).

b) That little ignition stud must be made of Chinese pot metal as it easily stripped with a 3" 11/32 wrench and one finger while reaching down between the headers at the end of my arm's length, though luckily there was enough good thread available that with an additional washer I got it tightened up and all is fine. Also note that it installed perfectly with no shims on my 76 400 block.

c) They also forgot to send the bolts/shims with the starter, but a quick phone call got them delivered a couple of days later, so no big deal.

I haven't tested it for heat soak yet, but it should be fine seeing it has 3X the torque of my old direct drive HD truck starter using less current.

This is just a heads up for anyone else using this EBAY "SBC BBC CHEVY 3 High Performance High Torque MINI STARTER 168 Tooth 6449MBK", be extra gentle LOL!
