Default new A/C hose problem

Hi,

I bought a new main A/C hose that connects directly to the compressor. It looks like one of the connections hasn’t been crimped at all.

Am I right? Should this connection be crimped in the car due to its position, or is it a manufacturing defect?

Thanks in advance for your help.

They may have left it uncrimped so you could get it fitted properly without any kinks or twists.
When I did my custom air-con hoses I mocked them up similar to what you show above. Then made a mark on the rubber hose and the metal fitting to mark alignment.
Ran the hoses into a local automotive air-con shop and had them crimped. I couldn't justify buying the crimping tool for a one time thing.
they crimped my hoses the way I had them marked and fitment is perfect, no kinks, no twists.
When I asked the guy at the air-con shop how much I owed him for crimping my hoses, he just laughed. Said he has never charged anyone just to crimp a hose.

Looks like it says something in the CC screen shot description about positioning of the hose

If you go to C.C. website it says in the last 3 lines of description it must be crimped...

Wow, I guess maybe that's why the hose I bought many years ago had a crimp in it. I'll have to take a look at that. Thanks for the information!

I was 90% sure, but it's better to ask. I hope somebody local can help. Thank you for reactions!

Absolutely any automotive air-con shop can crimp that hose. They make up lines every day.

The type of crimp required for that hose is called a Beadlock bubble style...
