Default Still learning from these cars

I need you advice and experience in reference to a couple of things that I'm seeing in my 1971 base.
Before detailing them, it is worth clarifying that the car works optimally. Starts, idles and accelerates very well and at high speed, recoveries are more than respectable for a base engine with automatic.
One of my doubts is that the distributor vacuum regulator is not connected to carburetor vacuum and I estimate it is like that since 2021 when it was restored because the carburetor connector has a cap.

And the other thing I don't know, is a hose what comes out of the front of the carburetor and ends in something that I can define, it seems a cap of something. The only thing it says is "Rochester".
Does anyone know what that is?

The Rochester piece looks like the cap of the charcoal cannister which sits down behind the left front wheel inner guard (down low).

Possible that the vacuum advance can on your distributer is leaking so it was disconnected.

I agree, that looks like the cap on your canister.

Thank you very much, your comments are very useful.
Indeed, the plastic piece is from the canister. It was difficult to reach, but finally could put the cap in place.
Regarding the vacuum, I have an adjustable one that I bought a few months ago, when I put it I will place the vacuum hose.

Wow that's an old thread with lots of good information but the web site is no longer there to get the reference papers from. To the rescue is the wayback machine.

https://web.archive.org/ enter the url for the web site and in this case it's http://www.lbfun.com I went to 2011 and clicked on December 8 and got this url https://web.archive.org/web/20111208...www.lbfun.com/ then click on Corvette Pages then Tech section and open and save any tech papers from there.
