A leaking side yoke seal is forcing me to remove the rear end. I'm trying to gather up parts to freshen up all the 44 year old "rubbers". The rubber OEM type carrier bushing cannot be found for the 80-82's. Did you guys find one when doing yours?
How stiff did you find your ride after installing a poly replacement?
I just did a complete rear end rebuild, I used the Poly bushings on the bat wings and rubber on the front bushing , Poly on the strut rods and spring bolts honestly I don't notice any stiffer ride , I did use a new spring also ... I am very happy with the ride , I did overhaul the diff also because of a leak.
I did find Ecklers shows a rubber bushing. I did an online chat and a nice rep Rich, callled back in minutes and says their source for this can ship this next week.

Interesting!
What's the part number of the rubber bushings? All I see is poly or solid.
That's, clearly the rear control arm bushing not the carrier support bushing.
So which one do you need? You don't remove the control arm to work on the differential.

You mean the front trailing arm bushing??? The look of that bushing sure looks like the OEM inserted in the “bat wings”.
Thanks for clarifying.

Interesting!
I purchased my front diff carrier rubber bushing kit from the Corvette Shop on EBay, free shippng
That does not seem to be available in rubber only poly or aluminum for track use.
when I did mine I searched high and low no rubber that's why I went Poly, the front rubber kit is available. I don't think Poly made any difference anyway you won't notice the difference between rubber .
