or Bairs i cannot remember. either way i think ok..
are they easy to rebuild ? Do you need special tools?
Rebuilding the master cylinder is easy enough, and okay as long as the cylinder's bore is in good shape (not pitted), or if it previously had a stainless sleeve installed.
You have a lot of choices for replacement master cylinders, both rebuilt and new, and none of them are terribly expensive. You can get rebuilt ones from both local parts stores and Corvette vendors. You can also get brand new generic replacements from the Corvette vendors and maybe other parts stores. You can also get very nice quality reproduction Delco master cylinders form all of the Corvette vendors.
From Corvette vendors the new generic MC's are about $175 and the reproduction Delco's run about $100 more.
Here is the exact reproduction Delco for the 77. CSSB are the ones making it, but every Corvette company sells them.
