Sorry for your issues. Yep, it is a LOT better [and less costly] to just rebuild the original GM master cylinder, instead of "gambling" on what you will receive with an aftermarket purchase.

Yes. Likely. Could be.
Just go to your local NAPA and get a rebuilt unit, Delco Remy. Just make sure it fits your exact model year.

If you opt to rebuild your own master, you better know the exact procedure.
If you mess up a caliper rebuild, you still have some brakes and can limp home. No harm / no foul.
If you mess up a master rebuild you could do great bodily damage to someone, yourself or public property.
In other words, you could kill somebody with a faulty master cyl.

Certainly, something to think about when approaching a four-lane intersection, "Red Light"! at 50 mph.

So in this thread you appear to be rebuilding a master and in the thread below replacing the .master.
Can you clarify why you have two different threads?

If it's an AC Delco Gold series (Delco #18M91, GM #18030333), it's a real GM Delco master cylinder, not a "knock off". Many of Delco's parts are being made in China today, as well as South Korea, and to a lesser degree than a few years ago, Mexico. The vast majority of aftermarket parts, whether they're Delco, FoMoCo, Mopar, NAPA, or Cardone are being made overseas, and if not in China they're coming from India, Vietnam or somewhere else.

What is a "29969" master cylinder, it doesn't appear to be a GM number? The original casting number for a 77 master cylinder was "5480346". The Chevrolet part number prior to 1980 was 18002069, but was superseded by part number 18005307 in 1980 (casting number remained the same but the mounting holes were changed to metric).

Who sells corvette brake parts?
Chevrolet, AC Delco, Lonestar Caliper, CSSB, NAPA, etc.

Okay went with the ac gold the rebuild lits were almost the same price so why rebuild it that number on the one i took off came from a corvette vendor and five years leaking. It reminds me of the stainless sleeves in my rebuilt calipers that pitted and the company said evidently your fluid was dirty. Every new item remember means never ever worked. Case closed. Yes i have breaks now and there is no pulling but for how long?
