Default Headlight Buzzer

In my quest to square away some of the issues with my car I discovered that what I believe is referred to as the "headlight warning buzzer" has been unplugged since I owned the car. I also read in a previous thread that this module has something to do with the map light and the defogger.

Upon hooking it back up I did regain the map light and defogger which I was happy with since those were two issues I got to cross of the list of things to investigate . However I did not regain the headlight buzzer. It's pretty minor, as the warning light still works. It seems that maybe the piezoelectric buzzer inside the module has failed? Does anyone has experience with this?
.according to the manual I read, the buzzer should turn on when the headlights are on and the key goes to the "off" position.

I've included a picture of the module I hooked back up.

Also, does anyone nmknow what that green plug in the picture goes to? It's been unplugged since I've owned the car also

Your picture is one of the OEM Buzzers used in several model years. My 73 used the same buzzer to alert when the key is left in the ignition switch. The buzzers are readily available at most of the Corvette Suppliers. I took my buzzer apart to try and fix it, but was not successful. The new buzzer I purchased did not work even though I had a new lever installed in the steering column. You can test the buzzer with a 12 volt battery or even a 9 volt to see if there is any sound. I

Hello DomJD86 --

The tan wire with the green plug is plugged into the LPS cavity in the fuse panel. The other end of the wire should be plugged into the head lamp warning buzzer.

The second wire from the head lamp warning buzzer should be plugged into the IGN cavity of the fuse panel. This completes the circuitry for the head lamps warning buzzer.

You are correct in your assessment of how the head lamp warning buzzer is to function.

I have a similarly equipped '75 with a map light mirror and a rear defogger and this is how the wiring is connected.

Head lamp warning buzzers were standard equipment on all 1975's.

Good luck!

You guys have been so helpful. After digging real deep into some electrical prints I have solved the issue. The headlamp buzzer is totally functional. All it required was a few swift flicks of my finger with the headlights on/key off, and it sprang to life. So problem solved.

So thats the good news.

The bad news was that my headlamp warning switches that are attached to the light buckets are both smashed and non functional. This whole time I've been putting my headlamps on, thinking that the "headlamps" light on the the console being on was normal. Now thanks to reading some other threads here I understand how its supposed to work. Both switches are on order. It appears that Ill have to make some adjustments to the "up" position on the lamp doors as it seems to be hitting the switches (literally) to death.

Will this require some additional adjustments to the yoke from the actuators? Or will the headlamps need to be adjusted since the open position may end up changing a bit?

I'm guessing both adjustments are quite possibly going to be necessary
