Problem with Power Door Locks
I am in the final stages of replacing the interior in my 79 vette, and I am having a problem with the power door locks. I have a wiring diagram but, when I put the wires on both sets of switches, they don't work (alot of clicking, and the PD actuator moves slightly). I double checked the wiring diagram (actually many times) and thought perhaps it should be flipped - this appeared to work (just a couple of times), the driver door actually locked and unlocked, then back to the same thing, just alot of clicking, etc. without even pushing the buttons - does someone have the correct wiring diagram for each side? :confused:

When mine starts acting up like that, I go into the door with a can of penetrant and a long extension. I hit all the moving parts inside with the penetrant while working the mechanism by hand. Once everything is moving freely on it's own power, I give all the moving pieces a shot of white lithium grease. Eventually, these parts will wear to the point of no return but for now, it keeps them going.
Also, make sure that the electrical contacts are clean and good. The contacts to the switches seem to corrode pretty quick.
