Has anyone bought a NEW replacement booster recently that they can recommend?
My 1969 has suddenly developed a very hard brake pedal, and minimum stopping power.
I believe that the booster is bad. The check valve does work 1 way, the the booster won't hold a vacuum.
So, where/what to buy.
I'd rather buy a new unit, as my luck with remanufacture parts has been pretty poor lately.
My car is not 100% original, so I don't need special date codes, etc. Just something that looks oem and works well.
I think oem should be black? I see black, zinc, chrome, etc. offered

Look at what CSSBinc has to offer. YOu want to be sure the pin on the master and booster are the same and will mate together. I stopped trying to get one that would match and bought the assembled set.
What was your method of determining the booster will no longer hold vacuum?
If you mean that you pulled out the check valve several minutes after it ran, most boosters do not hold vacuum very long.
Always the possibility the booster is fine. But the master has so much crud in there its hindering a smooth operation of the MC piston.
Always the possibility that one of the four rubber hoses is swelling shut also.
Got one about a year ago from A Premium can be found on Amazon. It works great but have to add I am presently having a problem with the brake pedal not coming up far enough to trigger the brake switch.Don't know whether its the spring on the brake pedal itself or a result of this booster.
There are companies who can rebuild your old brake booster to better than new condition as well. This is a great option for keeping the original parts on the vehicle. I found a company online who has fast turn around and great workmanship.
There have been so many issues with the aftermarket or rebuilt units out there that I now prefer to have the original part repaired to ensure it will work with my Corvette.
