Holley Sniper 2 with cable Tach
My 72 still has the original distributor with the cable Drive tachometer. I know it all has to go to get tachometer signal for the EFI but looking for information from someone who has done the conversion.
going to call Holley tech to make sure I get everything I need to make the EFI work but is there anything else I should be aware of for my specific application. What tach should I be looking for and how to adapt it to the Holley distributor?
thank you,
Dusty
It is easy to modify the MSD distributor for use with the Holley EFI system. I removed the vacuum advance and then the centrifugal advance as well.
The only real suggestion I want to make is to suggest that you speak with the guys at EFISYSTEMPRO.COM. They are a Holley Dealer but they have a Tier 3 Holley EFI Technician working for them. When I was looking around I was worried about getting the conversion done completely. The guys at Efisystempro offered me 24 months of POST-Sale support to ensure that the system is working to your satisfaction.. They have the parts in stock and offer good prices. I had budgeted an amount and after done I still had almost $700 after we finished my order. Two days later it was in my hands! Happy Customer!
I was planning on a tank replacement until I learned about the Holley OEM Fuel Tank Modules which allowed me to use my factory tank with a new pickup. The fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator are on the new pickup plate along with a nice piece of Holley's Hydramat. The fuel system took less than 1/2 hour to set up on my C3, the whole system was very easy to install.
Next I am planning on going to a multi port fuel injection using the Holley Terminator Controller. Again I will be working with my friends at efisystempro.com to buy the parts and sensors I will need. Holley does make a nice EFI system, the software is amazing as it can do so much and it is very easy to customize to your application.
Good Luck with your future system!

Nice 72!
Just so you know, my local corvette shop refuses to put a sniper 1 or 2 on a c3 any more.
Due to multiple fitment, tuning, running & reliability issues.
First off, they do not fit a stock type air cleaner very well, and do not fit under a std 72 c3 hood very well.
They strongly suggest you go for the terminator X.
It has a Holley 4150 style efi unit that actually fits well, a separate ecm module that can be located somewhere cooler, and better tuning software.
It just fits, tunes and runs better and easier.

Hyperspark distributor and round canister style coil under the stock shielding.
A quick 3D printed spacer to accept the original air cleaner indents and to suit the round Sniper 2 body.
Plenty of room under my stock flat hood.
Cut off the original air cleaner 1" breather tube and replaced with a 3/4" tube at about a 10° angle
Even looks stock(ish) under there, unless you bend down.
Have only had it back on the road for about a month, winter here.
Only problem was created by me when extending the cts wire and had created bad joins.

Second to what ctmcloskey said about Efisystempro. Chris over there was more help than anyone at Holley ever was. Very knowledgeable and he now has more staffing to help with the tech and shipping end. Great guy...great company...honest support and fair pricing too. It looks like they have Holley days pricing on their website. Give them a shout. Truly the best I found
