I'm adding the stock vinyl stripe to my C3 rear bumper and could use input from our members who have exerience applying them. Car has been waxed so I'm expecting to strip it before proceeding.

Don't recall a stripe on the back bumper of a 1980.
I don't recall one either. BUT, if you are adding a vinyl decal or stripe, wet the area down with water ( I use windex), place the decal, sqeegee the bubbles out from underneath and let it dry completely...before you push the decal to see if it's dry. If there are air bubbles you can't get out, a pin or razor blade can be used to pop a hole, then push the air out.
The only c3s that had any stripes were on the hood of LT-1 cars. None of the latter cars except the 25th anniversary cars and the 78 pace car had stripes.
