81 Power Steering cylinder leak
OK here is the deal. I had a power steering leak a while back. So, I bought another cylinder and new lines and installed them. Almost stopped the leak but never could stop it where the hose threaded into the cylinder. Put a pretty good tight on but something was still obviously wrong because it still leaked. Got so bad it leaked while parked a drip at a time. So again, new cylinder and new lines, still leaking while parked. I am not aware of any trick to put this all together but maybe there is a step I'm skipping. Any help would be appreciated. Nothin worse than a leaker!
Thanks

Try some Hydraulic thread sealant. "Loc-tite" makes several different kinds depending on the application and/or thread size. Sealant must dry for 24 Hrs. before putting into service.
I had the first actuator leak no matter what, it leaked so bad you could push the rod in and it leaked from one fitting. I suspect the brass flare adapter had a bit of trash under it. I sent it back and got a different actuator from a different place and not a drop leaked out since then. Luck of the draw with Chinese crap.
Flare fittings do not use pipe thread sealant, don't waste your time trying that. The threads are not what seals the flare end of the tubing is the sealing part.
