Default Trying to identify an item

Members: I am trying to figure out what the tachometer wire is connected to in-between the distributor and the tachometer wire to indicator inside on the 1976 C3. It appears to be either a condenser, or suppressor of some form. There is no indication or part numbers to help, and is not indicated on the wire diagrams. The item is mounted behind the carburetor on the intake manifold and as stated the Tach wire goes thru the item before connecting to the distributor. Any thoughts or P/N ‘s would be appreciated.
Thanks

It is a filter. If your tach needle is steady, all is well. If it jumps around, change the filter. Available from several suppliers.
