Attention 82 DIYs!
Does anyone know the length of the throttle cable used on the '82 cars?
Throttle cables for 82s have not been reproduced. The only ones available are either NOS, used cables from wrecking yards or new or used cables from eBay but even with all those choices 82 throttle cables remain hard to find.
The '84 used the same engine as the '82. The position in space of the driver's side TBI unit is the same.
Has anyone tried to use the '84 Corvette throttle cable on an '82?

If you go to Summit Racing and use their filtering system and studying the ends you should be able to find one that fits. If you can't find one in your size get a longer cable and shorten it if need be. Pioneer or ATP throttle cables are very easy to shorten by pulling the plastic ends off the cable housing and cutting the the cable housing to your needed length. Then a bicycle cable clamp for the cable.
