TREMEC TKO sifter position
Installing a TREMEC TKO 600 in my '78 ( is a 4 speed car already).
Have all the parts I need ( trans mount, new drive shaft etc etc)...
Question is:
There are 2 shifter positions on the rearmost pad. Do I use the forward or the aft position (determined by how the actual shifter is orientated on the pad??
Thanks in advance!!
I don't have the offset, have another center console I'm going to modify .
My question was (and my fault for not explaining better) is:
There are two ways (three if you count the offset) to mount the shifter in the rearmost position on a TKO.
It appears by the picture of the transmission in the box they used the rear most position with the offset. You CAN move the shifter forward about 3 inches simply by removing the cover and spin the actual shifter 180 degrees and reinstall the cover...
It's probably easy enough to do with the trans in the car, but wanted to get it in place before installation...
Thanks for the replies, and the confusion caused by me...

If you want the shifter in the center of the tunnel, or the console, you need the offset shifter.
It moves the shifter to the left.
I forget who makes it, but these guys have it:
