Hi guys, a silly question from someone new to C3s. It appears my neutral safety switch has gone bad (72, auto) and I am trying to replace it, but what I thought was a wire connector appears to just be one solid piece of plastic, no tabs or anything to separate the 2 ends. Am I missing something?
One of those is a really damn difficult one to get released. If you look at the fittings on the new switch, it will help you figure it out. I'm not sure which it was, but I had to slide the flat blade of a pretty small common head screwdriver into it to help get it loose. All compounded by not having much room to work with.,,,,,
Yup definitely just pull apart, but hard to do so after who knows how many years. I finally got it, used some need nosed pliers for grip, the flathead screwdriver to loosen things up a bit, and of course working in a confined space makes it a bit harder.
Well my fix lasted about a month, back to not starting plus one reverse light out. I got a new switch thinking the previous replacement may have been defective, but still no go. I tested the wires and found that there is no power at the purple and white. (pink and green have power). This will probably be over my head but just in case, are there any simple or obvious things I should be checking before I give up?
