Default 1972 blinkers not flashing ??????

Okay, I’m looking for some help?

1. Blinkers do not flash?
With the turn signal on L/R and the flasher installed the blinkers are on but don’t blink !

I’m getting power (pink wires) to the flasher and power to the purple wire ( out to turn signal). The flasher is closed so it’s feeding the purple wire all the time

2. I don’t know how the flasher grounds itself?
3. At the steering column ?
4. Turn signal switch?
5. The hazards work perfectly
6 I changed the flasher to a digital one but still nothing and tested one that’s in the car and it works fine.
7 What am I missing??? Ground on the steering column?

Any advice

Did you instalLED’s? If all exterior lights are incandescent, then you should installed an old style resistance flasher ( your car has two flashers). Does the hazard lights flash?

Did you try swapping out the flasher?

Look at the electronic flasher relay, you will have a positive and a load (+ & L). The positive will be power in, the load will be to the lamps. Most electronic flasher relays the polarity has to be correct. 1 solution is to unpin the FM crimp terminals an swap there positions.
This is how my electronic Flasher relay is wired after swapping wire positions + left L right...

If you have LEDs, you need a three-wire flasher. I use the United Pacific version, as I need the base crossover in one of the circuits.

More details in my thread.

My read of the wiring diagrams is that 72 and up cars also require Blinker Genies, or bi-directional LEDs, in the front side marker light positions. YMMV.

Okay, I figured out the problem ! Originally the blinkers never worked in the car and I found the front marker light needed a ground as someone never re-installed it correctly over the past 50 years.
After getting all of the lights to work the turn signals wouldn't blink and would just stay on but the hazard lights worked great ?????
I decided to swap some of the dash, taillight and front marker bulbs with LED ones to lower the amps drawn. All of the lights worked great, hazard flasher was perfect but still no blinkers ?????
I then purchased the Dewhel electronic flasher and nothing and even swapped the +/- sides of the relay ???

UPDATE:
The pink wire is hot and the purple wire gos to the steering column on the digital relay there is a + / - prong. I must have not hooked it up correctly so the pink wire gos to + and the - gos to the purple wire!!!! GREAT SUCCESS they all work !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and yes they are FANTASTIC !!!!!!!

Thanks for the guidance
