I am the proud owner of a completely origional 1978 Silver Anniversary Corvette with less than 25,000 miles. I drive it only on special occasions, to and from shows, etc...less than 2000 miles a year. I have heard that there are some really good companies that insure collectable Corvettes. I currently have a policy with Progressive and they are taking me to the cleaners. I recently purchased my ffirst home complete with a garage to keep my baby in. Now I need a good policy that fits my needs. Anyone have any ideas??
I just ran a '78 through their on-line quote, $20,000 value, in Georga, no deductable, and min libality. Total premium: $172/year.
They do have use restrictions: no driving to work, must be stored in a locked garage, driver must have ten years experence, good driving record, another car for each driving member of the household, etc. If those restrictions are not a problem then this may be for you.
cmnelson00.I have quotes from all companys listed. Your 78 should be able to get classic insurance. But most of them =2500 miles a year.I'm looking at agreed value of 25000 with max liability.Quotes range from 570to162 a year.Do your home work. One company offers up to 6000 miles a year.Hopes this helps anyone looking for classic insurance. You can email me for there names and there quotes. clem 68
Great information...I have done some homework but I would be more than happy to take any info that you have collected. The more the better. You could email it to me at cmnelson00@yahoo.com. Welcome to the Forum. You will really enjoy it. I, regretably have not used it as much as I should. That is changing.
Call Wally Smith. He sells Elite Collector Car Insurance. He is a car guy and insures two Corvettes for me. Your cost would probably be less than $200/year for your '78. His toll free phone number is 888-465-3467.

What's the insurance company that allows 6000 a year? Are there places that handle even more yearly mileage? The most my car would ever see is 10,000, but 6,000 sounds like enough.
redblazed, sorry my mistake 6000 a year was not classic car insurance. I was told that any more miles would effect the value of the car. What :bs clem68
