For anyone following my starting issues the root case was a leaking gas cap along with a plugged drain line.
I emptied a couple of gallons of water out of the Tank and now I have fuel pressure issues. Since the tank sending unit was inaccurate and I'm sure the sock is fouled, and...... after reading prior posts it looks like i can access without dropping the tank.
Any recommendations on the Sending unit? Summit list one but also list its being used on other cars which I'm sure are not located at the bottom of the tank.
Think Dorman was the OEM anyone have a part number?

Replacing the tank sending unit for your 74 is pretty straight forward if that needs to be done.
It's easier if you drop the spare tire and lid for the tire carrier.
Vendors like ZIP products is a good source.
There is a lock ring tool available that often helps get the old sending unit out and new in place.

The guy from summit called me back with the GM part number I'll look for the lock ring tool.
