The wiring changed a lot between 68 and 1982. I'm sorry, I just can't help you.
Did you re route wiring around the turn signal switch to get the brake lights to work? If you did, that's a no no.

Only thing I changed from the way it was was add the new socket an redo the ground bc it looked like someone just took a couple chunks off an wrapped it around so i cut an spliced in the new ground to get a better connection and the reverse light had an extra wire that is capped off now

The brake lights go through the turn signal switch. On all years. So, still can't help with precise wiring as I haven't a clue nor does anyone else on here as to what year car your working on.
if your signals are not working. Start checking, do you have power to the turn signal flasher? Not the 4 way flasher, that's a different one. Do you have power coming out of the flasher? Do you have power on that wire at the base of the steering column? When you engage the switch left or right Do you get power on the correct wire coming out of the column? What color are these wires. Who knows. We don't know what your working on.

Davis, always include in your post the year, engine and tranny. As 4-Vettes said things change from year to year.

What YEAR is the Corvette you are speaking about Kdavis2271? This is a critical piece of information that is needed to be able to help you with a good accurate answer!

Without it we are guessing.......
