Engine ID
Tough to read the third character in the VIN derivative, but it looks like either B (Baltimore) or R (Arlington) which would make it a Chevelle, Monte Carlo, or full size Chevrolet. Edited to note that the broadcast code and VIN derivative indicate that this is a 1975 model year car.

HEAD ID: Also, lift off Both valve covers and look in-between valve springs for each head casting number and casting date.
all above characters are RAISED, Not stamped. JME: None of this digging deep.
If IF this motor began life as a Two-bbl carb piece, And has Never been rebuilt; it likely has Dished pistons + likely Cast iron crank.
*Appears to have aftermarket Edelbrock Performer EPS intake manifold; perhaps a clue there May be a squarebore carb of some make ?
McKinnon essentially one in the same as GM St. Catherines of Ontario Canada
