Default C3 pistons replacement

Hello everyone. Ilive in Europe and I’m new to the forum, so please don’t judge me if this topic has already been discussed—I couldn’t find it using the search. I bought a C3 and didn’t get to enjoy it for long, because the engine collapsed . After tearing it down, I found a lot of good parts: it had already been built for performance, Manley pistons, etc. However, quite a few things need to be replaced because the engine seized due to insufficient oil level.

The main problem is that the block number has been ground off, so all parts have to be selected by measurements rather than by the block code. I’ve found most of the parts I need, but I can’t find a matching piston, and one piston needs to be replaced.

The closest match by dimensions that I found is an RRP piston:
https://www.rosspistons.com/product/...-4-00cc-80003/

The closest Manley option I found (but this model has a different compression height):
https://www.manleyperformance.com/pr...4e7tRdnPQFana9 but these e-shops sell only sets, impossible to by only one item, and price of set is too much for this case.

Honestly I don’t need forged pistons because this is a weekend car, not a race car, but I can’t find a cheaper equivalent piston. Could you please help and suggest what more affordable pistons would fit my engine?
Thank you for help in advance.

Suggest you tell us which engine and year you think you have.

Small Block OR Big Block ? Stroke ? Center-to-Center rod length ?

Are the Manley pistons' wrist pins pressed into rods OR are they floating in rods ?

Piston should have identifying part number stamped/etched into crown of piston.

Suggest you contact Manley directly; ask if that P/N is still available or if Manley has another direct replacement P/N.

I live in Australia, so I have a similar problem getting parts for my American car.
When I replaced my pistons a few years ago I went with Hypereutectic pistons. Hyper pistons can be run at much closer clearances than forged pistons and while not as strong, are stronger than standard cast pistons.
And your right, trying to purchase just one piston can be problematic. Yet a set of 8 hypers will set you back 300 bucks or less. And they all match. And if you know your precise bore size. You should be able to fit them with minimal honing.
