Exhaust wrap for Side Pipe Headers
I know many of you have wrapped their headers with side pipes. Looking for tips, can they be wrapped on the car or should I take them off?
Probably be easier off, but has anyone done it on the car how difficult was it?
Is it best to go from the collector up or wrap each pipe from the top down? Trying to develop the best plan.
Would anybody post some pics of what they did?
Just ordered a DEI Titanium Lava wrap kit and silicone top spray from Summit.
I may order another set to wrap the side pipes especially under the heat shield by the doors.
Thanks in advance.

Header wrap holds in moisture and causes rust under the wrap. Many times people on here have reported greatly shortened exhaust lifespan caused by header wrap.
It's not just ugly, it's also bad for your exhaust.
Think, ceramic coating! Not ugly, holds in the heat. And extends the life of your exhaust.
Just my 2 cents.
That's great information, I didn't think about moisture retention.
Even if I spray Silicone over top there is that potential of moisture with the changing weather conditions here.
I'll have to look around the northern Virginia area to find a shop who can coat them.(future project)
I was just thinking what else I could do before lowering back to pavement.
I guess I have a wrap kit I could use for something else in the future. .
Thanks .
