Default 82 Horn Contact

I have brand new horn parts but they have never fit correctly with the plastic bushing where it's supposed to be and pin will not go down enough to put the contact plate on. Do you have to cut the pin down to fit? Trying to finish up the interior so I can do a compression test tomorrow and see what the engine is doing.

In this photo I found on the net the pin looks shorter than the new one I have... he also mentioned you can cut some off...

I just measured the space between the Z part and the insulator and there's 1/4" of space. With the pin and spring installed like it should the pin sticks out 1/2" when pushed fully in... so I assume cut the spring or cut the pin.

This video even shows the new pin to be too long

So after putzing around with some springs I came to the realization that the pin was just too long so I cut 1/4" off and it's perfect now.
