Default 68 with Map Pockets?

I just purchased a 1968 427,
It has the map pockets on the passenger side.
The person I purchased the car from claims they were there from the factory.
It is my understanding that they did not come on the '68s.
This is a late production, June 68, car.

Any way this could be original?
If not, where can I find the OE dash panel?

Thanks

All the 68's I have seen had the 68 only panel, no map pocket. My brother bought a '68 that was 6 months old and it was like all the others.
Easy to swap out and might have been years ago. I believe some of the original's panels may have stamped dates on the backside, like some door panels did.

Hi

My early 68 has a map pocket, but I installed it myself. It's practical to have and easy to return to original.

For additional referece our '68 is an August build, not far from the 'end' of the '68's. Stock interior. No map pocket. Best, Paul

PS: it does have a saddle interior which technically was not an option for '68 but is known to show up in late '68's. Still no map pocket. :-)

Might consider buying both the passenger's dash panel and the driver' s speedo/tach panel. This way the colors will match.
