If you do plug the adapter's bypass (I do that routinely on CT motors), you also Must Ensure you're keeping motor full of clean oil And using a quality filter that'll withstand significant burst pressure. Most WIX can do and WIX states BP in its online specs; BP varies somewhat from one P/N to another. Again, Baldwin also make a very good filter. Donaldson too.
