I think I have decided to put a 383 stroker engine into the chassis. Does anyone have any experience with the BP38318ctcv. It is a low profile designed for Corvettes. With that being said and doing the modeling clay test to see if there is enough room under the hood, I am getting like 1/4 of an inch gap between the 11.5" height of the BP engine and the underside of my hood.I dont think that is enough room with engine movement. Is it advisable to use the long block 383 with a low rise intake a Weiland 7545 or Elderbrock 2101, a 750 holly carb , and an air filter with a 1.5" drop? Or will that choke the engine at high HP? I am intending on it being a street cruiser with an occasional '*** pinned in the seat' feeling as well as some 4 to 5 hour highway trips.

Great choice!
A torquey 425 HP 383 runs like a scalded dog.

I doubt that intake setup will fit.
It says it will not fit a C2 and they are taller than a C3.
A std C3 hood is the shortest GM ever made.
But you have a domed 74 hood.
An LT-1 has 11.25" from block rail to it's domed hood, and your 74 hood is similar.
And that is a single plane intake which you do not really want for cruising.

I would suggest buy the same engine without accessories, carb, intake, water pump.
Let Lars rebuild your QJet and reuse that. You will not find a better carb anywhere.
Buy a Eddy 2701 which fits and works well, if you need a square bore intake.
There are some similar spread bore eddy intakes for Qjets.
Your 74 air cleaner fits to the hood, and is lower than the one pictured, OEM has a 1.5" drop.
I would reuse that. Then you also have no choke, throttle issues.
And you need a short water pump. Then all your pulleys fit.

If your QJet is not suitable for a rebuild (check with Lars) then either find one that is, or there is a particular Holley that is often recommended on here by Jebby one of our resident engine builders / tuners. He recommends (IIRC) a Holley 750 Street HP for that HP level. I would too. So that makes 2 of us.

For intakes, it is all about carb pad height.

All the ones below the LT-1 will fit. The LT-1 may fit.
