I was planning to drop the body back on next weekend but then it occurred to me that my front end will be sitting up too high with the new Al heads and intake. I have the standard MOG 5758 on the front that I put on about 7 years ago. I need to take care of this while the body is still off to save my old body some pain. This is a convertible w/o air. I know they can be cut down (not a fan of that but if it works, ok) but ok with getting replacements as well. If you did similar engine changes, what did you do to the front springs to even out the stance? Prior the stance was perfect and I won't tolerate the nose up. Thanks for any input
Have you considered F-41 springs? I would match them front and rear.
That's a good possibility but I really don't want to take the rear apart again to get matching set. I need to do a little more research on using F41 as I know it was part of performance package but does that mean the same weight difference as I now have (AL heads and intake, small block)?
They make semi coil-overs for exactly this situation. Takes out the guesswork. I'd suggest the QA-1 double-adjustables.
Definitely checking that out. In the process of enhancing performance while trying to maintain stock appearance, I've learned that is a little bit of a dream to some extent so coil overs would be ok with me.
After looking at this option, I can't justify the double adjustable for my application but the GS507-09550D single adjustable appears to fit the bill. The Moog 5758 were 10 inch installed height and 474 lbs/in but the QA-1's are 550lbs/in with collapsed hieght of 9.62 inches and adjustable from 0 to 2 inch lower. This seems to work if that is the way I go. First time looking at coil overs so am I missing something?

For your components, the combined weight difference between cast to aluminum is about 75lbs. That's not a lot when you're talking about front spring compression that's supporting about 1600 pounds. I don't think you will be able to preemptively compensate for the weight loss before it's all back together and evaluated.
I suspected that might be the case but wanted to ask the question before doing the drop. If it turns out to make a noticeable difference I will address then. Don't want to spend money I don't need to.
thanks
I have Al heads, Al intake, headers, and Al water pump. All of which remove weight and my ride height did not change appreciably. I would try it the way it is before making any changes to the springs.
I have Aluminium heads, intake, radiator, and a lot of unnecessary factory garbage removed.
my ride height did indeed change. F41 suspension factory.
Cut one full coil. 27 1/2 inches now.

The stock front springs in my 1969 (I think) were in the 280 inch pound range. The F-41 front springs were in the 550 inch pound range and lowered the front end one inch. Since you said:
"my front end will be sitting up too high" this may help.
This is the proper way to set the height
