Default Corvette Alignment

Hey guys,

I wasn't sure where to post this—Corvette Northeast, Corvette General, or Corvette Technical. Moderators, please feel free to move it if there's a better section.

Good service is hard to find these days, so I wanted to share a positive experience. I have Guldstrand solid bushings in the front suspension and ended up having to remove and reinstall them correctly after another shop messed up the installation.

Also, after 57 years, I figured it was time to have the differential rebuilt. Gary Ramadei rebuilt the differential and also serviced the rear control arms. After all that work, I needed to have the car aligned.

One thing that seems almost impossible to find these days is a shop willing to perform a proper 4-wheel alignment on a C3 Corvette. Most places simply say "no." Others don't want to deal with potentially rusty adjustment hardware and quote an outrageous price.

I finally found a shop that was willing to do it. The owner's name is Tony, and the alignment cost around $300. I was very happy with the work. Here is his card.

Usually you get a report as to what they accomplished. Curious what they set things to.

Myself, responding to this, I spent a lot of the Memorial day weekend doing just that. $300 is a vey good price IMHO.

Where in NY? I just got my car back together with new suspension (a arms and trailing plus coil overs and composite spring and engine. transmission and rear end and borgeson steering... Im in western NY and just made an appointment for 2 weeks from now but the shop owner was hinting it might get pricey because of all the work I did. Im thinking since nothing is old or rusty or frozen it should be easy for them.

The address is

19 West Industry Court

Deer Park, New York

The guy’s name is Tony

BTW: Just in case anyone is wondering...I get no kickback or other financial considerations. I posted as I have received such high prices from other establishments and most turn me down. Also, for any shop you go to, I supplied my own shims.

How about Corvettes and Performance Specialties on Transit rd. Just down the street from you. He did one for me but it was a long time ago. Super good Corvette shop.

My local shop charges $120 for a 4 wheel alignment and the Tech is very picky about getting it right and I get to stand next to him and watch everything he does.

Personally, I think it is great you guys are posting. Finding good people to work on our cars has been tough. Also, I have had to redo the work of some shops. Some are excellent and God awful expensive. Some will not touch a C3. I was visiting a friend and reached out to a well known shop Phoenix Performance . They do not work on C3's. A fair price for quality work is what I am looking for.

If you have a shop, (it does not have to be an alignment shop), please post it here with contact info. There will always be another project down the road and I like to build a list of great people.

Yes. Larry painted my car back in 1990 or so. Still looks amazing. My 35 year old lacquer is getting pretty brittle from age. You should call there to see what the shop is still doing today.

Most recent Corvette shop is Amazing but it's in Little Rock. KK Performance is a one stop Corvette repair and performance place. They are experts at LS tuning and a Procharger dealer too. Have a chassis dyno.

We are lucky to have Gwatney Performance Chevy close by too but I have never used their dyno or tuning services. They are well known.
My red C3 is up on the lift getting a rear suspension overhaul.
