Can I put these non vented valve covers on a 68+ sbc and drill vent holes in the rear for pcv/air filter ??? Or is an internal baffle needed? Or install as is? They certainly look good. Or is this a really dumb question lols!
Regrets?
First...are those bolt holes staggered or straight across from each other top/bottom? Hard to tell for sure in pics. Early ones are staggered and not likely to fit your heads.
They make some aftermarket ones with PCV and breather holes in the sides of them. Or they can be drilled. A baffle is always a good plan.
We did a 400" engine where we drilled the rear of the heads and made up a baffle arrangement and routed hoses to a remote breather can. Worked great.
You can also use an intake with a breather on the fill tube. Some breather tubes allow a PCV to be installed also....but it doesn't work too effectively if there's a breather cap two inches away from it.
