Hello Everyone, so, after a bit of time with headers on my 427, the starter wire bundle has had quality time resting on the headers (unplanned). The high-temp sleeving has melted (and wires, blew the main buss fues), and I'm dang lucky an electrical fire didn't result. I would appreciate a good high-temp sleeve replacement source for this bundle. I found one, but it's from China and will take 2 weeks to get here. I don't trust it. Thank you very much.
Hello pin
Have you tried lectric limited?
I see they offer the alternator wire sheath and may be able to help you with your starter bundle.
Regards....
I mounted a power bar to the frame close to the starter and then ran only TWO wires to the starter lug. I also put heat wrap around the main power cable going to the starter lug. I also put a 175 -20@ amp marine fuse on the main power cable at the battery at the suggestion of Richard. I’ll try to find some pics.

GM made a starter solenoid heat shield that will fit your 427. I have one on both of my cars just because the manifolds are only a couple inches from the solenoid and wires. GM also had a wire clip that mounted to the solenoid to keep the wires up and back from the exhaust.

Thank you Alan 71, I will reach out to them. I've repaired the actual wires myself with quaility wire and heat shrink, so I just need the high temp sleeve. I appreciate your note.

Nice work! I'll take some tips here. What was your source of the the heat wrap on the starter itself?

Thanks barkingrats, I'm not exactly sure what the material was but it looks OEM. Do you have a source for the shield in your photo?

Reproductions of both the shield and wire clip are readily available at most of the regular vendors. The shield attaches to the block using the front starter support bracket and the rear uses the outer screw/nut of the solenoid cover.
